Privacy Policy

Who we are

become is run by Srijan Maurya and Haripriya Mantri, the founders of become (individuals, India) ("we", "us"). We decide how your personal data is used and are responsible for it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Contact: team@becomeclub.app.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and password. Your password is stored by Google Firebase Authentication as a one-way hash, so we never see it.
• Profile, seen by other members: name, handle, photo, cover photo, bio, level, title and achievements, and who you follow and who follows you.
• Personal details, seen only by you: email address, and if you choose to add them, birthday, gender, height and weight. We use them to estimate calories.
• Your activity: workouts, sport sessions, routines and records; photos and captions you post; likes and comments; live sessions and live comments; your crew; messages you send; and when you were last active.
• Safety: reports you file (reason, optional note, and a copy of the reported content), people you block, and moderation decisions.
• Device: a push-notification token, only if you allow notifications.

We do not collect your location, contacts or health-app data, we do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not send your data to AI services.

Why we use it

• To run your account and the app, and to show your activity to the people you choose.
• To calculate your stats, calories, XP, streaks, levels and leagues.
• To keep become safe: reports, moderation, blocking and the word filter.
• To send service emails: email verification, password reset, security notices (for example "your password was changed") and account-deletion confirmations.
• To answer you when you write to us.

We use your data because you agree to it when you create your account. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account.

Who can see what

Your public profile and posts are visible to members, or only to approved followers when your profile is private. Your live-session status and when you were last active are visible to your followers. Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. Your personal details are visible only to you. When you report something, the person reported is never told who reported them; our moderators see the report.

Who processes it for us

• Google Firebase and Google Cloud: sign-in, database, photo storage, server functions and push notifications. Your database is stored in Mumbai, India; photos are stored and server functions run in the United States.
• Hostinger: our email provider, for the emails we send and receive.

These providers process data only to run become for us. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you delete your account it is hidden straight away and permanently deleted after 7 days. That includes your profile, sessions, photos, comments, likes, routines and messages (chats stay for the other person, showing "Deleted user"). Copies in our encrypted backups are erased within 14 days. We keep only the date your account was deleted. Reports and moderation records are kept as long as needed to keep become safe. Emails you send us stay in our mailbox.

Your rights

You can see and download your data (Settings → Legal & Data → Export my data), correct it (Edit Profile), and delete it (Settings → Privacy & Account → Delete Account). You can also ask us to nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to. To exercise any right, or if you have a concern, write to our Grievance Officer: Srijan Maurya, team@becomeclub.app. We aim to reply within 7 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

become is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if we learn we have, we delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access rules ensure your personal details can be read only by you, and messages only by the people in the chat. We keep daily backups for 14 days. If you find a security problem, please tell us at team@becomeclub.app.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
